Ebook About
The first practical guide to applying the ancient healing art of Hawaiian shamanism to our modern lives. Uniquely suited for use in today's world, Hawaiian shamanism follows the way of the adventurer, which produces change through love and cooperation—in contrast to the widely known way of the warrior, which emphasizes solitary quests and conquest by power. Now, even if you can't get out into the wilderness or undertake a long apprenticeship with a shaman, you can learn to practice the art of shamanism. You'll learn how to: —Interpret and change your dreams —Heal yourself, your relationships, and the environment —Cast the shaman stones to foretell the future —Design and perform powerful rituals —Shapechange —Make vision quests to other realities And more.

Book Urban Shaman Review :

After a long discussion about where I was in life it was suggested that I read this book, Urban Shaman, and report back for further discussion after I was past page 57. I read through page 57, quit my job and started my own company. At the next discussion it was brought up that a rumor was that this book caused me to quit my job. My answer sums up what this book is to me, "it is impossible to do the exercises in this book and stay stuck." Great wisdom and enough exercises to create movement.
The author nailed it with the philosophy, which is very close to the Zen school of thought on Nature, humanity, and how you can shape your own reality to benefit all of mankind. But Serge explains it better than 90% of the other authors out there.I am a prior skeptic who has revised his review here on Amazon RADICALLY as the result of the last six month's worth of reading, re-reading, trying-out a few of the things in the second half (practical exercises) of this book, and experiencing the results. Thus, I believe that my review is worth reading because it comes from someone who initially wrote that the philosophy of Huna was great but that the rest of the book was a waste of time.I'm a former field-grade military officer who heretofore believed in concrete reality and would never, ever believe some of the things I have seen come true right before my eyes as a result of practicing what Serge advises. Please read on...For example: You might have trouble (as I initially did) believing that carrying a 25" stick around is like an antenna for positive energy or that tossing a few stones on the ground can do anything more than waste your time and perhaps get your sandals dirty. But after a few months of being a "hard head", I spent some time actually trying-out these things and I have found (much to MY surprise) that they work and that life has become beautiful as a result. What I found out from actually going through the exercises in the book is that both the philosophy AND the practice of Huna as explained in this book are as real as you believe them to be. That doesn't mean you are deluding yourself by believing, it just means the YOU is different and able to use the philosophy to make both yourself and your world a better place. You see, I never really understood the core Huna principle that "The world is what you think it is" until I internalized it into my belief system and then - POOF - it started working for me and the world itself changed in remarkable and beautiful ways.I have changed my reality and now and can easily move between realities (yes, there are more than a few out there). I get along much better with others, am less selfish, understand the world around me better, and am more observant and able to assist others in ways I never thought possible. It all begins, as Serge says, with the Spirit of Aloha (love for yourself, everyone, and everything around you).I can't promise you'll read this book and be magically transported to a different world. In fact, I guarantee that if you do nothing but READ the book, nothing will happen. It takes a certain amount of faith in the beginning and some real, honest-to-goodness work - but if you are willing to put in the time, you will find yourself and the world around you to be full of Aloha and you will begin healing yourself and others -- just because you CAN make a difference.I found out just reading about Huna isn't enough to change things, you have to put it into practice and have a little faith that it WILL make the world a better place! Then it works. Now, when I read my original review, I'm actually ashamed of myself. How narrow-minded I was in the past! But I firmly believe that the type of person who has trouble believing and has gotten everything his or her way with nary a thought for others in life is EXACTLY the type of person who stands to benefit the VERY most from practicing Huna.So if you're the concrete-world, no-nonsense business person (like I used to be), you not only could benefit from this book, you NEED it more than most other people. When you finally bite the bullet and give it half a chance, you'll be telling other potential purchasers of URBAN SHAMAN right here on Amazon that the book worked for you, too.Aloha!
